Our President
President’s Message
Shabbat Shalom, everyone.
This week has been nothing short of extraordinary. As we gather here in peace and community, we must take a moment to reflect on the courage and determination of the State of Israel—our spiritual homeland—whose military has achieved a remarkable and critical success.
In the face of grave and growing threats, Israel has once again demonstrated not only its resolve to defend its people but also its vital role on the global stage. The operations this week were not just about territorial defense—they were about protecting the world from a far more catastrophic threat. Israel stood up to radical regimes determined to pursue nuclear capabilities, and through precision, intelligence, and moral clarity, those threats were pushed back—successfully and decisively.
It is awe-inspiring to consider that this small nation, barely 75 years old, remains a beacon of strength, ingenuity, and resilience in one of the most unstable regions on Earth. The stakes are never small, and yet Israel continues to defend not only its citizens, but the very ideals of democracy, freedom, and the sanctity of human life.
We know the cost of vigilance. We know the sacrifices made by soldiers, leaders, and families. And we offer prayers tonight for their continued safety, for wisdom among those guiding these efforts, and for peace—genuine peace—in a region that deserves better than endless conflict.
Let us also be mindful of our role here. As a Jewish community in the Diaspora, we are not bystanders. We are witnesses. We are supporters. And we are called to stand proud, informed, and united with Israel—with gratitude in our hearts and strength in our voices.
As we light our Shabbat candles this evening, let them be flames of hope—for calm after this storm, for justice amid chaos, and for the unwavering light of Israel to continue shining in a darkened world.
Shabbat Shalom.
