Bar/Bat Mitzvah

When a child is called to the Torah for the first time, it becomes a source of profound joy (simcha) for the entire community. The bat/bar/b’nei mitzvah signifies a significant moment that inspires our young adults to read and share teachings from the Torah. This sacred ceremony deeply resonates within us, touching our physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual aspects, symbolizing the transition into adulthood while honoring our Jewish tradition.

Our students chant a meaningful number of passages from the Torah and the Haftarah, conduct a significant part of the service in addition to presenting a speech about the Torah portion relating it to their life and the world in which we live. The preparation is tailored individually, addressing the specific needs of each child, and is overseen by our clergy.

A variety of honors are bestowed upon the parents to share with their family and friends.
